Description
A foolproof, 3-ingredient dessert that combines creamy cheesecake filling with a crunchy strawberry cake mix topping. Perfect for last-minute cravings or potlucks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15.25 oz) yellow or white cake mix
- 8 oz block full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 package strawberry Jello powder (mixed with 2 cups boiling water) OR 21 oz can strawberry pie filling
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- If using Jello, dissolve powder in boiling water and let cool slightly. Pour strawberry mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer. Do not press it down.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbly.
- Let cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing to allow layers to set.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. If the top browns too quickly, tent with aluminum foil. Let cool completely before serving to ensure clean slices. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
