Description
A quick and delicious 15-minute weeknight dinner featuring seared pork tenderloin or chops coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb pork tenderloin or thick-cut pork loin chops
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4–5 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce)
- 1–2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Optional: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the pork dry with paper towels and cut into medallions or slice chops horizontally if thick. Season generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper until the honey is dissolved. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet (cast iron or stainless steel preferred) over medium-high heat and add oil. Wait until the oil shimmers.
- Place pork in the skillet, ensuring not to crowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F). Remove pork from pan and set aside on a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the pan with the pork juices. Simmer for about 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the butter until melted and the sauce is glossy.
- Return the pork to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Let sit for 1 minute to absorb flavors.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
Do not overcook the pork tenderloin as it is lean and can become dry; aim for an internal temperature of 145°F. Adding garlic directly to hot oil can cause it to burn, so mixing it into the honey sauce protects it. The sauce will thicken further as it cools, so serve while warm.
